PERPETUAL Help started its new campaign under a new coach with a 25-21, 25-17, 25-22 victory over Lycuem of the Philippines on Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Altas were impressive on Macky Carino’s debut as Perpetual Help women’s team coach.
Maria Lourdes Clemente scored 14, Cindy Imbo had 13 points and Maria Aurora Blanca Tripoli added 10 for Perpetual Help.
Jowie Albert Verzosa chipped seven after taking over the starting job from Jhona Rosal, out indefinitely after she was diagnosed with ovarian cyst.
“It was unfortunate that it happened, we just pray for her that she gets well soon and still play for us this season,” said Carino, former St. Benilde coach.
Perpetual Help also won its juniors match against Lyceum, 25-18, 25-20, 25-13, and the men’s squad completed the triple kill with a 25-19, 25-13, 25-18 victory.
