FOTON Pilipinas had a hot start and a sizzling finish, whipping Kwai Tsing Hong Kong 25-20, 25-14, 25-10, on Saturday in the opener of the 2016 AVC Asian Women’s Club Championship in Binan, Laguna.
The win puts the Super Liga side on track for the quarterfinals. Foton Pilipinas continues group play on Sunday against Lien Viet Post Bank of Vietnam.
The preliminaries feature four groups of three teams each, the top two from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
Chinese Taipei also scored a quick win in its opening match, downing Malaysia in three sets.
