EYA Laure and Alyssa Solomon added individual silverware to Alas Pilipinas Women’s historic silver-medal campaign, with Laure winning her first international award and Solomon further cementing her place in SEA V.Cup history.
Laure was named Best Outside Hitter while Solomon repeated as Best Opposite Hitter in Leg 2 of the 6th SEA V.Cup in Chiang Mai, Thailand, after also taking the same honor in Leg 1 in Hanoi.

The awards capped a breakthrough campaign for Alas Women, who beat Indonesia, 25-13, 23-25, 25-19, 33-31, to secure the Philippines’ first-ever silver medal in the tournament’s seven-year, 11-leg history.
For Laure, the recognition came after a strong recovery from a quiet opening game.
She scored just five points in the loss to Thailand but responded with 22 points against Vietnam before delivering another 17 in the silver-clinching win over Indonesia.
That gave Laure 44 points in three matches, averaging 14.7 per game, with 39 of those points coming in the Philippines’ two victories.
Solomon scored six points against Thailand, 17 against Vietnam and 19 against Indonesia for 42 points at an average of 14 per match.
Her second straight Best Opposite Hitter award also pushed her past Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen for the most awards by an opposite hitter in SEA V.Cup history with four.
Together, Laure and Solomon accounted for 86 points in three matches, averaging a combined 28.7 points per game as Alas Women finally broke through for silver.
Thailand also dominated the rest of the individual awards, with Sasipaporn Janthawisut taking both the MVP and a share of the Best Outside Spiker honors just like in Leg 1. Pornpun Guedpard was named Best Setter, while Thatdao Nuekjang shared Best Middle Blocker honors with Vietnam’s Tran Thi Bích Thuy.
Indonesia’s Indah Guretno Dwi Margiani completed the individual awardees as Best Libero, giving each of the three countries involved in the medal race at least one major individual citation.
