    Banko Perlas makes it back-to-back wins, sends Iriga Navy to fifth straight loss

    BANKO Perlas overcame Iriga-Navy, 25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 28-26, on Sunday for its second straight win in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

    American import Lakia Bright finished with 27 points and 16 digs, while Thai reinforcement Jutarat Montripila had 23 markers for the Spikers, who improved to 3-4, tied with Petro Gazz, to end the preliminary round on a high note.

    “Hindi pa rin bumigay ang mga bata eh, talagang gusto nilang manalo, ayaw nilang matalo ulit,” said BanKo Perlas coach Dong dela Cruz.

    BanKo Perlas and five other teams — Iriga-Navy, BaliPure, Petro Gazz, Tacloban and Pocari Sweat will engage in another round robin.

    Top two teams in the will join Creamline and PayMaya in the semifinals.

    American imports Lauren Whyte and Macy Ubben finished with 26 and 17 points, respectively, for Iriga-Navy.

    The Lady Oragons absorbed their fifth straight loss.
