DE La Salle is seeing action in the 2014 Philippine National Games serving as the team’s first major tournament since the Lady Spikers' heartbreaking loss to rival Ateneo in the UAAP Season 76 women’s volleyball finals.
The Lady Spikers formalized their participation in the annual event by completing their registration requirements on Monday at the office of the organizing Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
It is still not clear, though, which teams the Taft-based school will be facing in the tournament as registration is still ongoing.
La Salle is just months removed from its disappointing loss to Ateneo in the UAAP Finals, failing to take advantage of a rare thrice-to-beat edge which the team earned following a sweep of the elimination round.
The Lady Spikers, however, will be playing without team captain Aby Maraño, who already played out her eligibility with the school.
