NATIONAL University tries to edge closer to a quarterfinals berth in the First Conference of the 10th Shakey's V-League when it clashes with University of San Carlos on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Bulldogs, currently leading Group B with a 2-0 win-loss record, tangle with the Lady Warriors at 4 p.m.
And towering sisters Dindin and Jaja Santiago are again expected to come up with an all-around performance in trying to lead the streaking Lady Bulldogs to their third straight win.
“Sana magtuluy-tuloy pa (ang panalo),” said NU coach Edjet Mabbayad. “Sana ibigay pa ng Diyos ang panalo kasi pinaghirapan din naman namin.”
But NU remains wary of the Cebu-based Lady Warriors despite the guest team losing their first two games of the tournament.
University of Santo Tomas, likewise, hopes to stay on course for a berth in the next round when it collides with San Sebastian at 2 p.m.
The Tigresses, who have an even record of 1-1, will lean on former league MVP and guest player Aiza Maizo and mainstays Pamela Lastimosa and Carmela Tunay.
On the other hand, San Sebastian hopes to recover from its opening game loss to Ateneo behind reliable Thai recruit and leading scorer Jeng Bualee.
