COLLEGE of St. Benilde easily disposed Jose Rizal University in straight sets, 25-7, 25-13, 25-10, to keep a share of the lead in the 89th NCAA women's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan on Friday.
Jeanette Panaga had 13 points while Jannine Navarro added 11 for the Lady Blazers, who improved to 6-1 overall to tie Arellano on top of the standings.
The Taft-based spikers needed only 67 minutes to finish off the Lady Bombers, whom they dominated in the scoring department, 34-17, all of them through spikes.
St. Benilde banked on the poor reception of the Lady Bombers as it registered 20 service aces against none for JRU, while also taking control of the net by scoring four blocks.
Rosalie Pepito and Laela Lopez each had five points for JRU (1-6).
