UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help lived for one more day after it escaped Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-21, 29-27, 25-23, in the NCAA Season 92 women's volleyball tournament on Friday af The Arena in San Juan.
Jamela Suyat fired 19 points for the Lady Altas, while Coleen Bravo made 13 points, including seven blocks, and Jowie Versoza added 11 markers.
Perpetual Help improved to 4-3 to keep its Final Four hopes alive. But the Lady Altas still need to win their last two against Jose Rizal University on January 20 and Arellano University on January 25 to secure at least a playoff for a semis berth.
"During our practice hindi ko na sila pinagalitan, binigyan ko na lang sila ng motivation," said Perpetual Help coach Sammy Acaylar. "Hindi ko rin binabanggit sa kanila ang mangyayari sa amin (kung matatalo kami) kasi ayaw kong madagdagan pa sila ng pressure."

In men’s division, Mapua kept its Final Four bid alive after a, 25-21, 25-22, 14-25, 25-15, win over winless EAC.
