UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help inched closer to a semifinal berth and ousted San Sebastian with a 25-19, 25-27, 25-23, 25-22 win on Tuesday in the 10th Shakey's V-League First Conference at the Arena in San Juan.
Honey Tubino and Sandra delos Santos each came up with 17 points to help the Lady Altas improve their win-loss record in the quarterfinals to 1-1. They need one more win to secure at least a playoff for a semifinal berth.
San Sebastian, meanwhile, bows out with a 0-3 mark in the quarterfinals.
The Las Piñas-based tossers logged a total of 56 spikes, three points higher than the output of SSC. The Lady Altas also registered 42 digs compared to 32 of the Lady Stags. Perpetual Help also capitalized on
San Sebastian's 35 team errors.
"Naging united lang kami as a team," said team captain Tubino. "Naging masaya lang 'yung laro at binigay namin 'yung best namin at nakinig lang kami kay coach."
"Kailangan kasi talaga namin ang panalong ito para makapasok pa kami sa Final Four," she added.
Jeng Bualee had 28 points for San Sebastian, while Gretchel Soltones and guest player Suzanne Roces chipped in 11 and 10 markers, respectively.
