THE DLSU Lady Spikers forced a do-or-die match after sweeping the Adamson Lady Falcons, 25-23, 25-12, 25-18 in Game Two of the 2023 Shakey’s Super League National Invitationals Finals on Saturday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

The opening set began neck-and-neck with neither team able to pull away. After a tie at 23, an attack by Maicah Larroza and an error by Adamson gives DLSU the first set.
The Lady Spikers claimed the second set after their lead suddenly ballooned to 13 points and prevented the Lady Falcons from mounting a comeback.
The Taft-based squad took control of the third set and built a seven-point lead to eventually seal the victory after a service error by Adamson.
After absorbing a five-set loss in Game 1, Shevana Laput led the team’s comeback with 18 points. Amie Provido chipped in 13 points while Thea Gagate finished with nine.
"Actually, ‘yun naman 'yung sinabi namin sa kanila na hindi pwedeng pupunta tayo (sa laban) na papatalo tayo," said DLSU assistant coach Noel Orcullo. "Kailangan panalo. Di kami pwedeng magpatalo. Kailangan ipakita na defending champion tayo sa UAAP. (Kailangan) i-prove to them na hindi lang basta namin ibibigay ‘yung panalo sa kalaban."
Ayesha Juegos paced Adamson in the losing effort with 12 points as Red Bascon contributed nine.
Both teams are set to face off in the winner-take-all final on August 13, 4 p.m. at the same venue.
