LA Salle survived University of the Philippines, 25-22, 24-26, 15-25, 25-13, 15-13, on Wednesday in a match of teams that have earlier secured places in the quarterfinals of the Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
John Arjay Onia scored 25 points on 20 spikes, three blocks and two service aces, while Raymark Woo also had 15 attacks in the match that lasted two hours and nine minutes.
La Salle finished the elimination round with a 4-1 win-loss card.
Alfred Valbuena had 21 points, while Julius Evan Raymundo chipped in 13 for UP, which dropped 3-2 but also advances with La Salle, Ateneo (4-0) and College of St. Benilde (2-2).
