KIM Fajardo was one of the first La Salle players to console Alyssa Valdez after the Lady Spikers won the UAAP Season 78 crown at the expense of the Lady Eagles on Saturday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The former teammates at University of Santo Tomas high school hugged it out after the title decider.

“Sabi ko sa kanya, alam naman nating lahat na marami na rin siyang na-prove so sinabi ko sa kanya na good luck sa kanya sa career niya after ng UAAP,” said Fajardo.

Valdez shed tears as she shared a moment with Fajardo, who starred in the final match of the season, registering six points on offense, 51 excellent sets, and 11 digs.

“Si Alyssa kasi, alam ko ’yung ugali niya pagdating sa ganyang labanan,” said Fajardo.

La Salle coach Ramil de Jesus also hugged Valdez as she went around the court to say goodbye to the UAAP fans.

The champion coach said it was a pleasure seeing a kind of player like Valdez in the UAAP.

“Nakapag-produce ng ganitong player ang Pilipinas. At the same time, papunta na siya sa mas mataas na level. Malayo ang mararating ng bata,” said De Jesus.
