JOHN Onia and Raymark Woo led the way as La Salle scored its first win in the Spikers’ Turf Collegiate League, downing Arellano University, 25-17, 25-22, 25-21, on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
Onia scores 12 and Woo added 11 as the Green Archers bounced back from an opening-day loss to archrival Ateneo Blue Eagles.
Ralph Calasin added nine markers, including three blocks, while Rafael del Pilar chipped in with seven points for La Salle, which took an hour and 17 minutes to finish the match.
La Salle had the edge in attacks, 38-33, and blocks, 8-4.
Jopet Movido had seven digs for La Salle, while Reuel Asia also had five digs and delivered all of the team’s 20 excellent sets.
Benrasid Latip had 14 markers for Arellano, which is winless in two matches and shares the bottom with La Salle-Dasmarinas.
