DEFENDING champion La Salle grabbed its third straight win after dominating University of the East, 25-15, 25-14, 25-13, on Sunday in the 75th UAAP women’s volleyball at the Arena in San Juan.
De La Salle took control of the game and all but three lady Spikers contributed to the point production, with Mika Reyes leading the way with 11.
“Bibigyan namin sila ng magandang laban, paghahandaan namin at magpakundisyon,” said DLSU mentor Ramil de Jesus.
The Taft-based squad, which now holds a 3-1 win-loss record, claimed a share of second spot with Adamson.
Ma. Leuseht Dawis finished with seven points for the Lady Warriors, who remained winless in four games.
Adamson University defeated Far Eastern University, 25-18, 25-18, 25-14, in the other women’s game.
Shiela Marie Pineda and team captain Ma. Paulina Soriano led the Lady Falcons with 15 and 12 points, respectively.
FEU dropped to sixth spot with a 1-3 win-loss record.
In men's play, National University scored its fourth consecutive win as it beat De La Salle, 25-22, 30-28, 25-19.
Peter Den Man Torres, Reuben Inaudito and Reyson Fuentes each had 11 points for the Bulldogs (4-0).
Christopher Antonio and Red Christensen finished with a combined 28 markers for DLSU, which now sits in seventh spot (1-3).
Ron Jay Galang led Adamson to a 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20 win over UE.
Galang had a season-high 29 points on 23 hits, four block points and two service aces, while Michael Sudaria and Armando Maleon chipped in 15 markers for Adamson, now with a 2-2 win-loss record in fourth spot.
Homer Lauresta produced 20 points, Angelo Torres had 15 and Angelone Soria added 13 for the Red Warriors.
