LA SALLE got a boost in morale ahead of the semifinals, eliminating National University with a four-set win on Wednesday that gave University of the Philippines an outright berth in the Final Four.
Kim Dy had 25 points as the Lady Spikers downed the Lady Bulldogs, 25-14, 21-25, 25-19, 25-15, at The Arena in San Juan.
Dy had 15 attacks, five blocks and five service aces for La Salle, which bounced back from a heartbreaking five-set loss to top seed Ateneo to finish the two-round elims with an 11-3 card.
It was a huge loss for the Lady Bulldogs, who needed a win to force a playoff for the last spot in the semifinals against UP.
The Lady Maroons, who completed their elimination-round schedule on Sunday with an 8-6 record after a win over University of Santo Tomas, completed the semifinal cast.
UP faces twice-to-beat Ateneo in the Final Four, while Far Eastern University also needs to win twice to topple second seed La Salle.
The Bulldogs wound up with an even 7-7 win-loss card.
