THE De La Salle Lady Spikers outclassed F2 Logistics, 25-15, 25-20, 29-31, 25-21, in a charity match at the University of St. La Salle (USLS) Coliseum in Bacolod City.
Fresh from a runner-up finish in the Shakey's Super League (SSL), the Lady Spikers took command early against the Cargo Movers' second stringers in the first two sets.
Veteran captain Aby Maraño led the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) club's resurgence in a 31-29 third set before young guns Baby Jyne Soreño and SSL best open spiker Angel Canino sealed the deal for La Salle in four sets.
Among the key players who did not see action in the game were F2 Logistics' Kianna Dy and Majoy Baron, as well as DLSU's Alleiah Malaluan and 18-year-old Australian hitter Shevana Laput, who is rumored to join the Lady Spikers' senior squad within the next two years.
All proceeds from the match will be given to the charitable causes of the USLS Mission and Development program.
The green-and-white now sets its sights on a redemption bid in UAAP Season 85, while the Cargo Movers are aiming to regroup after narrowly missing out on the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference semifinals.
