THE title is within reach and La Salle’s top hitter Ara Galang is elated but knows there is still work to do after a straight sets win over Ateneo in the opener of the UAAP women’s volleyball finals at the Araneta Coliseum.
“May goose bumps, alam mo ‘yung sobrang happy and excited na feeling kasi makakalaro na ako with my team and puro fun lang talaga ang pinairal namin ngayon,” said the 22-year old pride of Angeles, Pampanga.
Galang finished with 10 points on nine attacks, as La Salle moved a step closer to reclaiming the title it last won two seasons ago.
“Syempre masaya kasi parang ano na ’to eh, one step closer na ito sa goal ng team eh,” she said.
The La Salle star said will go for the kill in the second match of the best-of-three series on Wednesday at the MOA Arena.
Galang also believes getting pushed to a deciding match by Far Eastern University in the semifinals helped them prepare for the title series.
