LA SALLE started its bid for a fourth straight win on a bright note, clobbering Adamson, 25-14, 25-22, 25-19, in the UAAP women's volleyball tournament at Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

Last year's co-MVPs Ara Galang and Abby Marano came away with 16 and 12 points, respectively, while Mika Reyes also had 12 for the Lady Spikers, who only took 75 minutes to finish the match.

But despite the quick win, seven-time champion coach Ramil de Jesus admitted they still have a lot of things to work on.

"Sa first set medyo fresh pa ang La Salle ang aga kasi namin nag lunch, 10 a.m., kaya sa last two sets medyo bumaba na ang adrenaline," he said.

"Ang Adamson naman maganda ang service, receive nila at may kumpyansa at the same time nag overconfidence kami. Marami pa, marami pang adjustments ang kailangan namin gawin," he added.

La Salle joins National U in the early lead. The Lady Bulldogs downed last year’s runners-up Ateneo Lady eagles in straight sets.

Amanda Villanueva made 15 markers for Adamson, while Bhebs Pineda added 10. The Lady Falcons and Lady Eagles are now tied (0-1).
