    King's Montessori, La Consolacion, Hope Christian score opening-day wins in Women's Volleyball League

    KING’s Montessori scored a quick 25-16, 25-12 win over Assumption College to get its title bid going in the premier 17-Under Competitive Division of the 19th  Women’s Volleyball League recently at the Xavier School gym.

    La Consolacion College-Novaliches also defeated Assumption College, 25-11, 25-8, while Hope Christian School whipped Sister of Mt. Carmel Catholic School, 25-6, 25-6.

    In the 17-Under Competitive Group B, Escuela de Sophia defeated Faith Christian School, 25-12, 25-19; St. Dominic Savio School beat St. Paul-QC, 25-13, 25-8; and St. Scholastica’s College-Manila downed Grace Christian College, 25-10, 25-14.

    St. James Academy beat Tiong Se Academy, 25-10, 25-10, in Group C, while Colegio San Agustin-Makati turned back St. Paul, 25-14, 25-18 and The Academy of God’s Children survived Malabon National H.S., 29-26, 25-9, 25-20, in Group D of the event organized by the Best Center and backed by Milo.

    FEU Lady Tamaraws Bernadeth Polns, Genevive Casugod and Charmagne Simborio, who played for King's Montessori in the WVL, attended the opening ceremony led by Best Center president and former national basketball coach Nic Jorge, Chris Sports marketing manager Arleen Lindo, and Milo Sports Executive Robbie de Vera.
