LA SALLE coach Ramil De Jesus had nothing but praise for Kim Fajardo, saying her will to win rubbed off on her the rest of the Lady Spikers in the UAAP women's volleyball finals opener on Tuesday.

Fajardo's dazzling performance sparked La Salle's fightback from a set down on the way to a 21-25, 29-27, 25-22, 25-20 victory over arch-rival Ateneo at the Smart Araneta Colis eum.

Fajardo finished with 10 points including seven service aces, most of which she made in a second-set run that turned the game around.

"Mas gusto niya manalo, pagiging leader lumabas sinundan ng teammates niya," De Jesus said of his prized captain. "Iba yun, talent n'ya 'yun, kung gusto kaya niyang gawin, and confident siya hayaan na lang."

Still, she is wary of the Lady Eagles' ability to overcome a 0-1 deficit in the best-of-three finale.

"Syempre babawi at babawi yan, pero nasa amin na kung paano ide-defend. Test of our character," she said.
