LA Salle utility spiker Kim Dy hopes to maintain a killer instinct after a surprisingly quick demolition of Ateneo in the opener of the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball championship.
“I’m so excited but we shouldn’t relax,” said Dy. “Baka kasi maging over confident kami then we won’t be able to get the results we want. Kaya training pa rin kami kung ano pa ang kulang namin sa loob.”
Dy hopes to avoid what happened in the elimination round, when they defeated the Lady Eagles but were sent crashing back to earth by University of Santo Tomas in the next match.
Lady Spikers coach Ramil de Jesus said his wards were “on cloud nine” entering the match against UST.
“Iisipin namin na back to zero ulit, kailangan back from the start, tuloy lang sa training namin for Wednesday,” Dy added.
Dy led La Salle with 15 points and is expected to lead the way anew when they go for the kill on Wednesday.
“Wala inisip ko lang I should give my everything, there’s no backing out, ito na ‘yun,” she said.
“Hindi ko iniisip na malayo sila, ang nasa isip ko kaya pa natin humabol hanggang hindi pa sila nagtu-twenty-five kaya pa namin so ayun nagawa naman namin. ‘Yun talaga ang mindset ko, laban lang nang laban,” she added.
