KIA Bright powered BanKo-Perlas to a 25-19, 25-14, 25-22 win over Pocari Sweat-Air Force on Saturday in the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Women’s Division at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The American open hitter carried the Perlas Spikers from a 20-13 deficit in the third set, scoring five of her 19 points from that stretch to ensure the straight-set victory.
“Ang dami naming binigay na free points nung third set. Nagbigay kami ng service errors and unforced errors at nawala yung reception,” lamented coach Dong dela Cruz.
“Sinabi ko sa kanila na pag inabot namin ng 18, may pag-asa pa kami manalo. Ganun nga ang nangyari at lumampas pa kami.”
Bright led the way as Banko-Perlas grabbed a 21-20 lead, before Dzi Gervacio sealed the win.
Jutarat Montripila added 16 points from 14 spikes, two service aces and a block, while Amy Ahomiro had 10 points.
BanKo-Perlas holds a 2-0 record, while sending Pocari Sweat-Air Force to 2-1.
Arielle Love led the Lady Warriors with 14 points, 13 off kills.
