BIÑAN CITY - Kazakhstan disposed of Hong Kong, 25-16, 25-17, 25-11, to give Philippines a free ride to the quarterfinals of the 19th AVC Asian Senior Women's Volleyball Championship on Thursday at Alonte Sports Arena.
Katerina Tatko led the way for Kazakhstan with 14 points, while Yana Petrenko added 12 and Yekaterina Zhdanova had 11 in a match that took just an hour and nine minutes to finish.
The Kazakhs are 1-0 in Pool A while Hong Kong finished the group stage with a 0-2 record, clearing the way for the Philippines' (1-0) automatic entry to the quartefinals and a spot in the AVC Asian Women’s Volleyball Cup next year.
Kazakhstan will face Philippines on Friday.
To Wing Man made eight points for Hong Kong, which absorbed an opening-day loss to the Philippines on Wednesday.
