BINAN — Altay VC of Kazakhstan clobbered Thongtin Lien Viet Post Bank of Vietnam, 25-21, 25-16, 25-22, on Tuesday in the classification round to determine the quarterfinal matchups in the 2016 AVC Asian Women's Club Championship at Alonte Sports Arena.
Skipper Inna Matveyeva scored 17 points on 11 kills and six service aces for Altay VC.
Kazakhstan faces Foton Pilipinas on Wednesday and a win will put the team on top of Group E and a quarterfinal match with the No. 4 team in Group F.
Alessya Safronova scored 10 points as Altay VC scored on 48 kills against 25 by Thongtin Lien Viet Post and nine blocks against five by the Vietnamese squad.
The Kazakhs also had six 6 service aces against three by the Vietnamese.
Tran Thi Thao scored nine points for Thongtin Lien Viet Post Bank, which next faces Japan’s Red Rockets.
