BANGKOK — USA middle blocker Jordan Larson-Burbach is excited to showcase world-class volleyball in the Philippines for the FIVB World Club Women’s Championship on October 18 to 23.

The many-time team USA member, who will play for defending champion Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul, looks forward to play against the Philippine team and six other powerhouse club teams around the world in the six-day tournament at the MOA Arena.

Larson-Burbach, a vital cog in their FIVB World Grand Prix title run last year, told that although she has never been to the Philippines, she is eager to see how Filipinos appreciate the sport.

“I’m really excited to see everyone there in the Philippines and show them a good match and I hope that they enjoy our game,” said the 29-year old American after they defeated China and advanced to the semifinals of the FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Grand Prix at Huamark Indoor Stadium on Friday.

“Our team is really talented and I’m very excited to play against a lot of the girls that are coming. And it’s a fun tournament to be part of because there are a lot of clubs that are going. I’m [also] excited to play in the Philippines because I’ve never been there,” she added.

Dubbed as 'The Governor' because of her court leadership, Larson-Burbach also looks forward to make the most of her time in the Philippines when she takes some time off and relax after the tournament.
