ATENEO setter Jia Morado still feels some pain but says the injured right wrist is fine and won’t keep her from playing in the second match of the UAAP women’s volleyball finals on Wednesday at MOA Arena.
Morado played through pain in the opening match of the best-of-three series after suffering a sprain the night before and she says she will keep on playing.
“It just needs rest, I can play better with the team kasi nate-tape-an naman namin,” said Morado after Monday night’s practice at the Blue Eagle gym.
“May kirot kasi sprained siya eh, but I take pain relievers and our PTs (physical therapists) are taking care of it,” she added.
The 20-year-old Morado still came up with 40 excellent sets.
“I don’t know how that happened,” she said, laughing.
Morado says the Lady Eagles there is no pressure entering the second match, knowing they have done well in knockout matches before.
“Like before, we used to go to do-or-die games, we’re not really putting pressure on ourselves kahit sabihin na pag natalo kami tapos na, pag nanalo meron pa, it’s just a game for us,” she said.
