FEU Lady Tamaraws shake off rust to turn back also-ran JRU Lady Bombers

    Sep 27, 2017

FAR Eastern University shook off a sluggish start to turn back also-ran Jose Rizal University, 28-26, 25-14, 25-15, in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.

Toni Rose Basas had 15 points for FEU, which improved to 3-1 to tie Ateneo in Group A.

Celine Domingo and Jeanette Villarreal each had eight markers for the Lady Tamaraws, who played without top hitter Bernadeth Pons who is in Singapore for the Southeast Asian Beach Volleyball Championships.

All but one scoring player fielded came up with at least a point for FEU, which scored a total of 41 attacks in the one hour and 17-minute match.

Shola Alvarez scored nine points for JRU, which remained winless in five outings.
