    Sep 9, 2017

ADAMSON University notched its first back-to-back wins under coach Airess Padda, defeating Arellano University, 25-20, 25-22, 25-16, on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

Skipper Jema Galanza scored 18 points as the Lady Falcons improved to 2-0 for the solo lead, loving ahead of the Lady Chiefs (2-1) in Group B.

“It’s an accomplishment, sometimes it could be really small for other teams but this was huge for us,” said Padda, hired to coach the Lady Falcons last year.

“Arellano is the NCAA champions and when we play higher teams the girls are timid. But (today) the girls are focused,” she added.

Aly Soyud, who scored a career-high 27 points against University of the Philippines, came up with nine markers, Lea-Ann Perez added eight points and Chiara Permentilla scored seven.

Arellano team captain Jovielyn Prado scored 11.
