ADAMSON University skipper Jema Galanza offered no excuses in their season-opening loss to National University, 15-25, 23-25, 25-16, 13-25, in the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Lady Falcons struggled early in the match as the Lady Bulldogs took the first two sets. Adamson did show some fight in the third set and put up a 10-point lead only to succumb in the fourth.
“Siguro naninibago kasi first game namin pero wala, nandito na tayo. Kailangan talaga dapat labanan mo ‘yun,” said Galanza, who only had six points in a match that took an hour and 40 minutes to finish.
The graduating spiker said that the loss will be a bitter pill for them to swallow but she insisted that they will learn from the disappointing experience.
“Pero mas maganda pa rin kung nanalo kasi nakakataas ng morale. Syempre sino ba namang gusto matalo?,” she said.
“’Yun lang talaga ‘yung tadhana, matalo. Siguro mas marami pa kaming dapat pagaralan. Lesson learned talaga,” she added.
Adamson will face Far Eastern University next week.
