JASMIN Nabor has been invited to lend a hand to the women’s national volleyball team as a reserve setter in its training camp in Tokyo Japan.
With Alyssa Valdez and Jia Morado cutting their training camp short due to their commitment to Creamline’s semifinals series in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference, the Nationals need a back-up playmaker for Rhea Dimaculangan.
Nabor, who campaigned in the ASEAN Grand Prix, was selected as the third reserve player to help the squad together with Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and Roselyn Doria.
“Mabuting nandito na rin si Jas para may kapalitan din si Rhea kasi mahirap din na pilitin dahil kababalik lang niya sa injury,” said Philippines head coach Shaq delos Santos. “Kasama na doon and at the same time, transition din, para sa ibang mga setters na not available o may mga conflicts pwede natin siyang isama.”'

Delos Santos is expecting the young setter to fly in on Wednesday at the earliest together with Eya Laure, Jovelyn Gonzaga and assistant coach Kungfu Reyes.
However, it still depends on how fast her papers will be processed.
If not, the National University’s product latest chance to join the team is on the October 26 when Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. official and national team program head Peter Cayco flies in to check on the squad.
Delos Santos said it will be a huge boost for Nabor to serve as reliever for now as she could be the country’s main playmaker in the future.
“Kasi future setter din siya for the national team kasi bata pa siya and yung skills niya,” he said. “I think exposure din. Malaking bagay ito kung may mga tune-ups kami, nakakalaro siya, malaking bagay yun.”
