THE Philippines suffered another straight-set loss, bowing to Japan, 25-12, 25-15, 25-21, on Tuesday in the 18th Asian Games women’s volleyball tournament in Indonesia.

Coming off a loss to Thailand on Sunday, the Pinay spikers remained winless in two matches.

Asian powerhouse Japan displayed a masterful game plan, punishing the Philippines with its fast attacks and impeccable floor defense.

The Pinay spikers kept within striking distance in the third set, 14-15, but Japan stepped on the gas to pull away, 24-20, and finish off the match.

The Philippines will try to get back on its feet when it faces Hong Kong on Thursday.
