NATIONAL University ripped struggling Adamson, 25-15, 25-22, 25-19, on Sunday to take the provisional lead in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
Jaja Santiago scored 15 points from five kills, three blocks and seven of the team’s 11 service aces.
The straight-sets win wasn’t a walk in the park, though, with Adamson putting up a tough stand in the second and third sets.
Eh nawala second set ang aggressiveness kasi masyadong relaxed,” said NU coach Roger Gorayeb.
The Lady Bulldogs made it three wins in as many matches, taking the provisional lead with La Salle and University of the Philippines both with matches in hand.
The Lady Falcons are winless in three matches.
Adamson led 22-20 in the second but simply did not have the finishing kick.
The Lady Falcons led early in the third 9-3 but the Lady Bulldogs were simply too strong for them, taking control with a run highlighted by three Santiago service aces.
Adamson skipper Jema Galanza scored 10 points for the Lady Falcons.
