JAJA Santiago (Sachi Minowa) was off a flyer for her new Japanese club team.
Minowa’s Denso Airybees posted a 25-21, 25-17, 25-22 sweep of Toray Arrows Shiga in theor 2025-26 Japan SV.League opener on Saturday.
The newly-crowned league champion had 14 points built on 11 attacks and three blocks in her first outing for Denso since leaving Osaka Marvelous after last season’s title run.
She also won match MVP honors with in performance where she had a sterling 61.11 percent attacking efficiency.
Denso’s Brazillian winger Sabrina Machado also had 14 markers in the win.
Egay yet to debut in Japan SVL
Minowa’s Osaka replacement in Alyssa Solomon did not see action in the reigning champions’ season opener.
Her Marvelous side dropped the first test of their title defense against Victorina Himeji in four sets, 19-25, 25-21, 21-25, 10-25 on Friday.
A day later, Himeji doubled down on their opening upset by beating Marvelous again in a 17-25, 28-26, 23-25, 25-22, 15-11 five-setter.
