NATIONAL University made quick work of winless Adamson University, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19, on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 79 women's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
Jaja Santiago scored 15, while Jorelle Singh added 10 for NU.
The Lady Bulldogs, who survived a five-set showdown with University of the Philippines on Sunday, improved to 5-3.
Despite the win, NU coach Roger Gorayeb insisted that his wards should double their efforts in the second round.
“Sana recovery win na. Madami pang laro, mahirap pa magsalita. Kada laro, iba-iba 'yung emosyon ng mga bata, iba-iba ang karakter nila sa laro, hindi mo rin masabi,” he said.
“Ang susunod naming kalaban, La Salle, hindi pwedeng ganyang klase lang ang laro nila,” he added.
The Lady Bulldogs fell behind, 5-12, in the third set before recovering to take the lead, 17-16.
NU closed the match with a 7-1 run behind Santiago and Singh.
Jema Galanza was the lone bring spot for Adamson with 15 points, 12 digs and 11 excellent sets.
The Lady Falcons absorbed their eighth consecutive loss and 15 straight dating to last season.
