DINDIN Santiago-Manabat was benched, but her team, Toray Arrows, made short work of her sister Jaja Santiago and Ageo Medics, 25-19, 25-18, 25-23, in Japan’s V.League on Saturday.

The much-anticipated showdown of the towering Filipina sisters was spoiled as Dindin didn’t see action, while Jaja dropped six points only for her team to lose the game in straight sets.

Toray Arrows rose to seventh spot with a 5-4 win-loss record, while Ageo Medics dropped to eighth place with a 4-6 slate.

Jaja has been a consistent starter and scorer for Ageo Medics, while Dindin has hardly seen action for Toray Arrows.

Volleyball fans are hopeful that Jaja and Dindin will face each inside the court when Ageo Medics and Toray Arrows clash again on February 9.

Ageo Medics try to bounce back against joint-10th seed Kurobe Aqua Fairies (2-8) on Sunday, while Toray Arrows return to action on January 12 against Okayama Seagulls (2-8).
