PETRO Gazz wrapped up its elimination round campaign with a 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 victory over Nxled in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at PhilSports Arena on Saturday.
Ivy Perez dished out 11 excellent sets along with five attacks and one ace to lead the Angels.
“Papasok kami sa semis na high morale, though, sabi ni coach, hindi maganda ‘yung nangyari kanina. Pero a win is a win pa rin. Para sa’min, babaunin namin ‘yon going to the semis,” said Perez.
Returning from the Korean V-League’s stint for Gwangju Al Peppers, MJ Phillips shone for the Angels with 11 points.
After dropping the first set, Petro Gazz strengthened its floor defense, with Brooke Van Sickle leading the charge with 15 excellent digs, compared to the Chameleons' nine from Dani Ravena.
Van Sickle continued her stellar performance with another impressive outing, contributing 26 points built on 22 attacks and four blocks.
Meanwhile, four players hit double-digit scoring output, led by Ivy Lacsina with 28 points, as Nxled finished the campaign with an improved 4-7 win-loss slate.
Jho Maraguinot (15 points), Camille Victoria (11 points), and Lycha Ebon (10 points) were the Chameleons’ other double-digit scorers.
