IRIGA-Navy hopes to keep its semis hopes alive when it faces streaking BanKo Perlas on Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
The Perlas Spikers lead the race for the remaining two spots in the semifinals with a 2-0 win-loss record, while the Lady Oragons hold a 1-2 card.
“Medyo uhaw yung team na manalo. Kung ito na ang last two games natin, kailangan makuha natin hanggang sa huli para mabawi namin ‘yung mga laro naming natalo,” said Iriga-Navy coach Edgardo Rusit.
Iriga-Navy will again bank on American imports Macy Ubben and Lauren Whyte, who each had 25 points in a five-set win over Tacloban.
BanKo Perlas coach Dong dela Cruz has reminded his wards not to be complacent.
“Dahan-dahan, nagje-jell na ang players, ‘yung problema namin sa import at setter na ‘di nagkakaintindihan, ngayon ok na connection nila, nakakapalo na ng maayos ‘yung import namin,” he said.
American hitter Lakia Bright, Thai import Jutarat Montripila and Amy Ahomiro, who teamed up for BanKo Perlas in their straight-set win over Pocari Sweat-Air Force, are again expected to lead the way for the Spikers.
