DEFENDING champion Iran Matin Varamin completed a sweep of its group assignments, demolishing Lebanon Zahraa Al Minaa, 25-16, 25-20, 25-27, 25-17, on Saturday in the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship at The Mall of Asia Arena.
Shahram Mahmoudi came up with 17 points, while Mostafa Sharifat added 13 and Mohammad Mousavi E. Seyed chipped in 10 as Iran, which scored its third win in as many matches.
Matin Varamin earlier downed Japan and Vietnam.
Zahraa Al Minaa suffered its first loss in three outings but will still advance to the quarterfinals.
Brazilian import Furtado Bruno scored 16 points, while Jhonlenn Baretto added 13 for Zahraa Al Minaa.
