    Sep 2, 2015

HOWARD Mojica scored 35 points as Emilio Aguinaldo College downed La Salle, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 26-24, on Wednesday to secure the third spot in the semifinals of the Spikers' Turf Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

Mojica, the NCAA Most Valuable Player, hit 28 spikes, had three blocks and four service aces as EAC improved its win-loss card to 4-3.

Israel Encina and Hariel Doguna combined for 22 markers for the Generals in the match that lasted two hours and seven minutes.

Guest player April John Pagtalunan registered all 28 of EAC’s excellent sets.

John Onia scored 16 points and Cris Dumago had 13 for La Salle, which dropped to 3-4.

The Green Archers are still in contention for the last semis berth but it will depend on the outcome of the match between National College of Business and Arts (3-3) and also-ran University of the Philippines.

A win by NCBA eliminate La Salle from the semis race, but UP win will force a playoff between La Salle and NCBA.
