GENERIKA-Army demolished erstwhile unbeaten Petron, 25-23, 25-23, 25-19, in the Philippine Super Liga All Filipino Conference at Cuneta Astrodome on Wednesday.

Jovelyn Gonzaga came up with 18 points, Rachel Anne Daquis had 14 and Ging Balse added 12 as the Lady Troopers extended their win streak to four after starting the tournament with back-to-back losses.

Petron remained on top with a 3-1 mark, while Army gained a share of second spot at 4-2 with RC Cola-Air Force.

Army played its second game in as many days, earlier posting a straight-sets win over UP in the V-League on Tuesday.

“Depensa ang nagdala sa amin,” said Army coach Rico de Guzman. “Mataas kasi ang opensa ng Petron lalo na si Dindin (Santiago), lumalampas ng 30 ang score niya lagi, so pinaghandaan lang namin ang blocking namin.”

Army had nine successful blocks, while the Blaze Spikers had six.

Dindin Santiago was limited to just 17 points, her lowest output in four games after scoring 37, 31 and 23 points in Petron's previous games.
