RACHEL Anne Daquis is set to join two-time reigning champion Ateneo, boosting the Lady Eagles' ceiling for the coming Shakey’s V-League Season 10 First Conference.

Ricky Palou, president of the organizing Sports Vision Management Group Inc., confirmed the popular former Far Eastern University star will be playing for the Lady Eagles as guest player as she teams up with Ateneo regulars Alyssa Valdez, Fille Cainglet, Dzi Gervacio, and Jem Ferrer.

Daquis makes her debut when the Lady Eagles face University of Santo Tomas in the first game of Sunday’s opener at The Arena in San Juan to kick off their campaign for a third straight First Conference title.

Palou, who is also the athletic director of Ateneo, said Daquis will definitely be a big boost for the Lady Eagles.

“She will be a big help,” Palou said. “Kasi matangkad siya, ‘yun ang kulang namin, blocking. Open spiker siya at magaling pa mag-block so that should be a big help.”

Daquis, both known for her looks and talent on court, last played for the Philippine Army during the Open Conference of the league last year.
