FOTON star Dindin Santiago-Manabat has been cleared of any major injury after a bad landing during a match against Sta. Lucia in the Belo-Philippine Super Liga Invitational Conference on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.

The 6-foot-2 spiker twisted her left knee late in the fifth set after scoring on an off-the-block hit. She crumpled to the floor in pain and was taken out in a stretcher, never to return.

However, team physician and league doctor Raul Alcantara was quick to rule out any major injury, saying the worst could be a strained ligament on her left knee.

"Strain lang daw pero bukas ipapa-check pa rin namin for MRI," team manager Dianne Santiago told SPIN.ph. "Nakakatayo naman na siya and nakakalakad pero mabuti nang sure kaya ipapa-check pa rin bukas."

Santiago-Manabat finished with 20 points as Foton (3-2) denied Sta. Lucia, 25-19, 23-25, 25-16, 22-25, 15-11 to join Cignal (4-1) and Petron (5-0) and guest team Kobe Shinwa University from Japan in the final round.
