PSL-F2 Logistics Manila dropped to the battle for seventh after it bowed to Hisamitsu Springs Kobe, 15-25, 18-25, 21-25, in the classification match of the FIVB Women's Club World Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.
Lindsay Stalzer made 15 points, from 10 kills, one block and four service aces, for PSL-F2 Logistics Manila, which will face Bangkok Glass for the seventh spot on Sunday.
“My team played good today, this [Hisamitsu Springs Kobe] is a very disciplined team,” said PSL-F2 Logistics Manila coach Moro Branislav.
“(I have) one comment on Japan team. They are not tall but my team do not have a complete concentration on block and this is rare, PSL played for four matches this moment against big big teams (they are tired),” he added.
The Japanese was poised to win the match, after Risa Shinnabe’s kill, 24-18, but a 3-0 spurt by PSL-F2 Logistics Manila capped by a service ace by Yevgeniya Nyukhalova saved three match points, 21-24.
But Nyukhalova’s service error sealed the win for Hisamitsu Springs Kobe.
“This match is not excellent, my strategy for this match is normally service and block but the blocking did not work,” said Branislav.
Yuki ishii finished with 16 points for Hisamitsu Springs Kobe, which will square off against Rexona Sesc Rio for the fifth spot.
