The Philippines' upcoming hosting of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2025 received a significant boost following an organizational meeting at Malacañang on Tuesday, where First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos pledged her support.

Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon "Tats" Suzara expressed gratitude for the First Lady's enthusiastic endorsement of the country's solo hosting of the prestigious event.

The gathering also marked the establishment of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 32-nation world championship, scheduled from September 12 to 28, 2025 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Cayetano, who serves as the chairman emeritus of the PNVF, expressed confidence in the Philippines' capability to deliver a remarkable hosting experience.

"This marks the return of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship to the Philippines after several years," Cayetano noted, highlighting the importance of extensive media coverage for global visibility.

    DOT commitment

Drawing parallels with past successful international events like the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and the 2023 FIBA Championship, Cayetano emphasized the Philippines' reputation for hospitality and its readiness to showcase its warmth to the world.

Frasco echoed Cayetano's sentiments, affirming the DOT's commitment to ensuring a memorable experience for both local and international spectators.

"The DOT will collaborate to create enticing packages for fans, aligning with our 'Love The Philippines' campaign," Frasco assured.

The meeting also saw the presence of Philippine Sports Commission chairman Richard Bachmann, Volleyball World CEO Finn Taylor, PNVF Vice President Ricky Palou and Secretary General Donaldo Caringal, and national player Bryan Bagunas.
