BEFORE 2015 ended, Fille Cainglet-Cayetano made a wish for a second baby. Little did she know her prayers were already answered right that very moment.
"Pag-pray natin pero sana girl naman," the 26-year old volleybelle, whose first born Ino Philip will turn two on May, told SPIN.ph last December after Petron failed to defend the crown in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix.
On Tuesday, during the contract signing between Cainglet and her fellow stakeholders of the BVR Women's Open Tournament and TV partner ABS-CBN Action and Sports, the former Ateneo star happily announced that she is four months pregnant.
“I’m taking it easy kasi nga me and Lino are expecting baby No. 2,” she said.
The wife of Taguig representative and TV director Lino Cayetano last played in indoor volleyball in the PSL last year, but is set to take a temporary leave from volleyball again but vowed to be back soon.
For now, Cainglet-Cayetano will keep her link with the sport through the company which she and fellow Lady Eagles have founded to promote the growth of beach volleyball in the country.
On Tuesday, she and former Ateneo teammates Charo Soriano, Bea Tan, Dzi Gervacio and Gretchen Ho signed a two-year contract with ABS-CBN, headed by Integrated Sports head Dino Laurena and SkyCable COO and Narrowcast chief March Ventosa, for the broadcast rights to the BVR Women’s Open Tournament to be held at the White House, Boracay on April 27 and 28.
“I believe na matagal pa naman ang career ko with volleyball. Kahit na hindi ako nakakalaro, happy ako na may work ako with beach volleyball naman. Na nakaka-help ako to organize with everyone here sa group namin,” she said.
“I’m happy that I’m still working and part pa rin ng buhay ko ang volleyball.”
