University of the Philippines, which holds a 5-8 win-loss record, hopes to force three-way tie for fourth when it plays its final elimination-round match on Sunday against semifinals third seed National University (7-6).
The Lady Tamaraws needed an hour and 21 minutes as they exacted revenge on the Lady Falcons, who eliminated them from the Final Four last year.
“Yes and isa ’yun sa mga nagpa-high ng morale ng mga bata, sinabi naming coaches sa mga players, sobrang sakit ng naramdaman natin last year ’wag na natin hayaan maulit ’yun,” said FEU coach Sahq de los Santos.
In case of a three-way tie, the two teams with lower quotients battle with the winner taking on the team with the highest quotient.
Mylene Paat scored 11 points for Adamson, which finished the season with a 5-9 win-loss card.
