UNIVERSITY of the East scored its first win in over two seasons, defeating Adamson University, 25-23, 19-25, 19-25, 25-18, 16-14, on Saturday in the UAAP Season 79 volleyball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.
Edward Camposano led the attack for the Red Warriors, who last won in the second round of Season 76 against La Salle.
Camposano scored 20 points, Noel Alba added 18, Clifford Inoferio made 14 and Samuel Lelic Jr. had 13 as UE snapped a 35-match skid.
UE now holds a 1-7 win-loss card.
Jerome Sarmiento scored 19 points, Michael Sudaria and John Yude had 13 markers each and Mark Alvarez had 11 for Adamson, which absorbed its sixth loss in eight outings.
