EAC keeps semifinal hopes alive with win over San Beda

EMILIO Aguinaldo College stayed in contention for the semifinals of the 89th NCAA women's volleyball as it downed San Beda College, 25-18, 25-7, 24-26, 25-19, at The Arena in San Juan on Sunday.

Charmille Belleza came up with 23 points, Arian Angustia scored 18, while Yvanne Reyes and Maricar Aguares had 13 and 12 markers, respectively, for EAC.

The Lady Generals and the Lionesses are tied for fifth spot with 5-3 win-loss records.

EAC totally outworked San Beda, which missed the services of Ces Molina due to an injury.

The Lady Generals earned 12 block points against the two of SBC. They also had nine service aces compared to two by the Lionesses.

Janine Marciano led San Beda with 26 markers to hike her total to 183 points, eclipsing Honey Tubino of Perpetual Help in the individual scoring.
