EMILIO Aguinaldo College vaulted to the top spot of the 88th NCAA women's volleyball standings with a 25-22, 25-20, 25-16 win over San Sebastian College-Recoletos on Tuesday at the Arena in San Juan.
The Generals notched their fourth straight victory, matched Perpetual Help’s 6-1 win-loss card, and climbed to the top of the leaderboard having dealt the Altas their first loss last week.
Arianna May Angustia led the Lady Generals with 13 points on 10 attacks and three block points, while Chamille Belleza added 10.
EAC registered 12 service aces and capitalized on SSC-R’s 26 team errors to seize the lead.
Gretchel Soltones came up with 16 markers for San Sebastian, which dropped from joint second to fourth spot with a 5-2 card.
Meanwhile, San Beda College bested Mapua, 25-16, 25-10, 25-21.
Frances Molina finished with 21 markers on 17 hits, two block points and two service aces, while Janine Marciano added 14 for the Lady Red Spikers, who remained in fifth spot with a 5-2 record.
Alyssa Magallanes had seven points for Mapua, which is winless in seven games.
