PERLAS got back on track, downing erstwhile unbeaten BaliPure, 22-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-16, 15-12, on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

Amy Ahomiro led the way with 17 points the Spikers, while skipper Dzi Gervacio added 16 and Sue Roces chipped in 11.

Former University of the Philippines top hitter Nicole Tiamzon scored 11, while Sasa Devanadera came off the bench to deliver 10 markers for Perlas.

The Spikers came from two sets down to book their third win in five outings to tie the Power Smashers.

“Parang diesel nga kami, sobrang tagal bago gumalaw cohesively ‘yung team but it shows na our efforts came in fruition,” said Gervacio.

It was a big boost in confidence for Perlas after a straight-sets loss to Pocari Sweat.

“We had our own frustrations and I think that was our problem coming from our previous game,” said Gervacio.

“We have to double our efforts din so ‘yun coming to the third set (I told my teammates) na guys, we have to recover talaga,” she added.

Former San Sebastian ace Grethcel Soltones had 20 points for BaliPure, National University’s Risa Sato scored 14 and Lady Bulldogs teammate Aiko Urdas added 13.
